The Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS)
The Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) is the UK Government’s interpretation of the requirements of Article 8 of the European Union Energy Efficiency Directive.
Large UK undertakings and their corporate groups and oversees companies with a UK registered establishment, which employ 250 people or more or have an annual turnover of €50M and an annual balance sheet total more than €43M are required to comply with ESOS.
There are several routes to compliance and CMR can help your organisation to meet the ESOS requirements carrying out energy audits or supporting your group to meet the ISO 50001 standard.
Through our Certified Lead Assessors, CMR has successfully supported manufacturing and commercial organisations with ESOS Phase 1 in the UK and throughout the European Union. Now it is time to get started with Phase 2 and the works for the energy audits and preparation for ISO 50001 compliance can already start now.
If your organisation is likely to qualify for ESOS Phase 2, CMR can coordinate and carry out the necessary work to comply with this legislation before the Phase 2 deadline of 5th of December 2019. Carrying out the energy auditing work in advance of the 2019 deadline will allow your company to plan the compliance operations more easily, minimise disruption for your business and anticipate the effects of cost reductions. The total energy consumption (TEC) assessment will be calculated at a later stage including the Phase 2 qualification date of the 31st of December 2018.
CMR can also advice and support your company on energy efficiency evaluation analysis, measurement and verification of implemented energy projects and manage the implementation of cost effective efficiency projects.
